Mini Galas
Mini Galas are held 3 to 4 times per year and are an introduction to competitive swimming in a relaxed and fun environment.
It gives swimmers the chance to put their training into practice and parents and carers the chance to see how their child is progressing. It is a great opportunity for young swimmers to learn about competitive swimming and to prepare for graded meets.
Medals are awarded to 1st to 6th place in each age group.
The competition lasts for approximately 2 hours

Events
25m Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Freestyle
(for younger age groups)
50m Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke & Freestyle
(for older age groups)
All events are heat declared winners,
this means there are no finals, the winner is the swimmer with the fastest time in their age group/sex regardless if the swimmer swam in the first heat or last heat.
Medals are awarded to the fastest 6 boy/girl swimmers
in each age group.
Disqualification frequently happens in swimming.
Even the best swimmers get disqualified from time to time.
Please see this as a chance for your swimmer to improve.
We understand that this is the first competition for many of our younger swimmers.
The only expectation is that they try their best and enjoy the event.
