As a club we enter competitions of all levels from our mini galas to give our youngest swimmers their first experience of competition, all the way through to British Championships and Olympic Trials. 

Our head coach will produce a competition calendar (link below) each year which shows the competitions that we are intending to enter, where the gala will be held, and which squads will be taking part. Your swimmer will not be taking part in every competition.

You will be sent information about each competition your swimmer is invited to via Swim Manager. When you receive the information please can you complete the entry form as soon as possible, it should only take five minutes to complete.

Deadlines for competition entries have to be set by the club to ensure there is sufficient time to process entries, pay for entries and send them over to the organising club before the entry cut-off date. As I am sure you are aware, these duties are carried out entirely by volunteers, most of which are carrying out their voluntary responsibilities alongside full time work. 

 

Due to the number of competitions and the volume of entries, we cannot accept any late entries as it creates additional and unnecessary work for our volunteers.  

 

Whilst we always endeavour to give as much notice as possible for entry forms to be returned, we know that there will be occasions where is a short turnaround time for entry forms to be completed. This may happen if there are opportunities for our swimmers to get last minute competition opportunities, or where entries are first come first served basis. The competition form is quick and easy to complete and should take no more that 5 minutes.

To reduce the risk of missing a competition entry deadline: 

1. Look at the competition calendar below to see which competitions your swimmers squad will be taking part in. Please note that the competition calendar is a live document and is subject to change – please keep an eye out for emails or Spaces app messages from Becki or your squad coach for any changes 

2. Ensure that you check that you are receiving emails from Swim Manager – this is our preferred way of communicating with you and all members should have access. If you are having an problems, please contact treasureratmorpeth@gmail.com 

3. Check you are on the squad group in the Spaces app as messages about competitions are shared on the app as well. If you are not on the app, please contact ruthtweedie1@btinternet.com 

4. We do not tend to put competition entries onto our members Facebook group, but it is a useful way to see what is going on the club in general. If you are not currently a member, please ask to join the Morpeth Swimming Club – MEMBERS group (link here)
